Marriage is boring. Don’t romanticize it as if every day is supposed to feel exciting, passionate, or magical. A healed woman and a healed man understand this. Marriage is not meant to constantly entertain you. Real life comes with responsibilities, work, children, family, money, household responsibilities, difficult conversations, ordinary mornings, and repetitive days.
As an individual, you have to discover romance within yourself. Find romance in your own life. Find romance in your purpose. Find romance in becoming deeply alive within yourself.
Woman, find your romance in your body and your purpose. Find it in taking care of yourself, understanding yourself, creating something meaningful, feeling your emotions, exploring your inner world, and becoming more connected with who you are.
Man, find your romance through giving, protecting, creating, building, and living your purpose. Let your sense of aliveness come from the life you are creating, not from expecting your partner to constantly make you feel alive.
When two people expect marriage itself to provide all their excitement, they eventually become disappointed. They start believing something is missing simply because everyday life has become ordinary.
But ordinary does not mean that love has disappeared. Sometimes love looks like showing up every day. Sometimes it is making breakfast, taking care of children, paying bills, sitting together quietly, supporting each other's dreams, or staying present during difficult seasons.
This is why you should not compare the intensity of a new attraction with the reality of a long marriage. Naturally feels different from familiarity. That difference alone does not mean your marriage is wrong or that another person is your destiny.
When you constantly search outside yourself for excitement, validation, romance, or desire, you become vulnerable to relationships that temporarily make you feel alive but eventually create more confusion and pain.
Instead, bring life back into yourself. Develop your purpose. Create. Travel. Learn. Move your body. Spend time alone. Build meaningful friendships. Explore what makes you feel genuinely alive without betraying your commitments.
And then bring that aliveness back into your relationship. Talk to your partner. Create new experiences together. Be curious about each other again. Make space for intimacy, playfulness, affection, and honest conversation.
A healthy marriage is not two incomplete people demanding that the other person continuously fill their emptiness. It is two individuals taking responsibility for their own inner lives while choosing to build a shared life together.
There will still be boredom. There will still be difficult days. There will still be moments when you don't feel deeply connected. Healing does not create a permanently exciting marriage; it gives you greater awareness of how you respond when excitement disappears.
Woman, your partner is not responsible for making you feel alive every moment. Actually you are responsible for this.
Man, your partner is not responsible for carrying your entire sense of fulfillment either.
Both of you need an individual relationship with your body, your purpose, your creativity, your inner world, and your life.
Then married life becomes beautiful—not because marriage becomes endlessly romantic, but because two people stop demanding that marriage provide everything they haven't discovered within themselves.
Find romance within yourself. Find romance in your body. Find romance in your purpose.
Find romance in creating, giving, protecting, growing, and living.
And then bring that fullness into your marriage.
That is life.
