Most people misunderstand romance. They reduce it to attraction, dating, or sex. But true romance is much deeper than that.
Romance is a state where you begin to dissolve. Your walls soften, your heart opens, and your mind becomes quiet. You stop controlling every moment and simply allow yourself to experience life.
Real romance is not something another person gives you. It is something that awakens within you.
On the spiritual path, romance becomes a sacred experience. It is the meeting of your heart with existence. It is the feeling of being deeply present, deeply alive, and deeply connected.
Sometimes this awakening happens in the presence of another person, a teacher, a mentor, a guide, a partner, or anyone whose presence helps you return to yourself.
The person who takes you deeper into your own being becomes part of that romance. Their presence itself feels romantic, not because it is necessarily sexual, but because it opens your heart and reminds you of your own wholeness.
If your body naturally brings feelings of romance during meditation, breathwork, or healing, don't judge them. Don't rush to label them as right or wrong. Don't immediately assume they are about a relationship or physical attraction.
Simply observe.
Allow your body to express what it needs to express. Trust its wisdom. Your body knows how to guide you more deeply than your thinking mind.
Sometimes this energy may feel like love. Sometimes devotion. Sometimes tenderness. Sometimes gratitude. Sometimes bliss. Let it change naturally without trying to hold on to any one experience.
You don't have to decide whether it is romantic or not romantic. Both labels can limit the experience. Stay open to what is unfolding.
The deepest romance is the romance with life itself. It is the moment you completely dissolve into love, presence, and awareness. In that space, there is no fear, no performance, and no separation, only a profound sense of coming home to yourself.
That is the romance of the spiritual path.
